Frequently Asked Questions

Can you tell me exactly how to fix something specific on my car?

No. But we can tell you where to get that information.

There are several companies on the web like AllData and Mitchell's that enable you to get the same, or similar instructions that service technicians can get in their shops. There is a charge for the service.

We think everyone that owns a car or truck should have the Repair Manual (not just the Owner's Manual) for your year, make and model of vehicle. While not without fault, these tomes answer nearly every possible question about repairing the vehicle. Some have images depicting the steps in the repairs. Others have diagrams. It's also useful to have a general Repair Manual that provides instructions for the most common repairs. But every year, make and model of vehicle is different, so different in fact that repair shops often have to buy entirely new sets of tools to work on newly introduced vehicle. (And those tools aren't cheap!) Chilton's and Hayne's are two of our favorite publishers.
