What do you think the reason is for the current high gas
prices? Do you think it will end? When? What will be the
reasons the prices will go down, or stay up?

Gas companies are making hay while the sun shines. One
company made 45% more profit during this period compared to
last year. It will end when:
1.) The Iraq situation stablizes to normal.
2.) Gas companies stop gouging the consumer.
If no tanker truck has filled up a gas station's tanks for
two days, what's the @#$% justification for the price
getting jacked up and down four times? That is not supply &
demand, that's highway robbery, plain and simple. I use
Amsoil and double tip on points and to save me a couple
bucks each tank.

I agree. The reason gas prices are up is pure and simple
greed by the gasoline companies. The prices will NOT come
down again. It was the same way when coffee prices went
through the roof. It was blamed on a freeze in South
America which destroyed the coffee crop. Prices have never
dropped to their pre "freeze" condition since.

No one is investigating the gas companies and that's just
another reason they are doing the price gouging. They have
a lock on what we need and will continue to gouge the
public. They are doing it because THEY CAN!

I have cut down considerably on my driving and I drive a
compact car but it still gets less mpg than my old compact
and I have to drive 26 miles roundtrip each day to my job.
That is about 1 gal. of gas per day. That is the minimum
amount of gasoline I need to use. I've also been walking to
do my errands more than I used to. At least I'm getting the
health benefits! :)

I believe that the current administration and there buddies
in Saudi Arabia are artificialy inflating prices. Both fuel
and Health care have gone up more than 40% in four years way
out pacing inflation.
