06/03/2006 10:51 AM | Help! I have a 1996 BMW 318ti. The check engine light was
on (lost gas cap and replaced it). Car failed smog
inspection, check engine light was turned off by smog guy
and he told me to drive the car for 100 miles to reset the
sensors. I have driven the car 500 miles, retesting every
100 miles and still am failing. He says keep driving. I
think this is getting ridiculous (and expensive with gas
prices). How do the sensors get reset? Do I need to do
something else?
