I own a 1993 Honda Accord and recently got a oil change and
air filter change but my maintenance required light still
shows a bright red. Does anyone know what this indicates?

Here's a copy & past from a Honda car site:
OIL LIGHTS: NEVER NEVER EVER drive with an oil light on or
flashing, quickly pull over and turn off the engine.
Checking the oil level will quickly tell you whether you
have a low oil situation or an internal oil pressure
problem. If the level is low, like not even on the
dipstick, that may be why you have a light on. Correct the
level and then restart the engine - if the light still
appears, call a tow truck. If the light stays out, you may
drive home or to the nearest full service facility and find
out why the oil level was low. Each time that light is on,
at that moment, you have no oil pressure, which means that
your high revving engine is running with no lubrication
going to all the moving parts. End result - serious engine
damage.
I also encourage you go to www.lubedealer.com/hiebert for
product options.

On page 84 of Ms. Volpe's book she says to change the oil
and filter every 3,000 miles. Fine, we all know that. Or
should. Then on page 86 on the *monthly* maintance list, #1
is "check and fill the engine oil". I don't under the once a
month "fill the engine" statement after saying every 3,000
miles. thanks

Proactive monthly maintenance checks are better than
spending big bucks later.

it means the shop that changed the oil did not reset the
light. in the owners manual you will be able to find an
article that explains how to reset the light or you can
return to the service center and ask them to take care of
it.
