Posted on: 02/27/2006 02:05 PM | Hello,
If you're a 35+ years old woman, I'd like to know what
you're thinking about the Cadillac brand, and in particular
about the Escalade model.
What motivates you to buy a luxury car?
What current attitudes or beliefs do you have about
Cadillac? What could make them change?
Thanks for your comments. |

much of the Escalade at all (nobody has bothered to post an
answer in 2 months). Maybe the reason is because this is a
car that is off most women’s radar. I’ve sat
behind one at the Detroit Auto show and I simply felt silly.
It was huge and not my style. When I think of Escalade, I
think of one of two types of people, both men. The first
is the man who wants to show the world how much bling he
has; the other is just a poser. Either way, I just think,
what a chump to be making those kinds of payments for a car
that just annoys people. Not only is it a car for flash, it
also shows that the driver has no sense of social
responsibility. So often I see those mammoth things coming
at me, Inotice that there is only one person in the car. It
should be illegal to drive cars with such crappy gas mileage
unless you have four passengers in it the majority of the
time. Heck, I just got done looking at the Escalade web
page and you can’t find info about the gas mileage
anywhere. Even if the price of gas is not an issue for
Escalade buyers, they should be informed, like the caloric
labeling on food.
So obviously I don’t like the Escalade. What I do
like is the SRX crossover. That is a car I would seriously
consider buying. I like the look and the interior.
However, I don’t feel like I need any car with more
than 300 hp. Performance to me really means performing
well at the gas station, in other words, sipping not
chugging gas. So when the website tells me I can get even a
bigger engine, I just groan to myself. Looking at the
website I feel like they are talking to my husband, not me.
Maybe men do most of the purchasing, but in my household
and many of my friends’ it is the women who have the
say on what cars we get. The reality is that we (the women)
are the ones who spend most of the time driving around. My
husband’s attitude is that if I think it will work
out nicely for our family’s needs, then we get it.
All he asks is that it has leather interior. So when you
“talk†around me on your website, I
don’t appreciate it at all.
