their RVs to Alaska. We go for 40 days and have a
marvelous time. If you want to get on the list for 2004,
send your request to CharTours@juno.com Since 1993 we've
been going and it is beautiful. Don't get left behind.

but going with one or two friends by car/van or truck to
Alaska from the Lower 48 is a great experience.
May & June are the Spring "break-up months." =the ice is
melting and 'breaking up' all over. I lived there 6 1/2
years and they even 'bet' on when the river ice breaks up.
So, make July and/or early August your time to travel
there. The Salmon will be running, the weather is great,
and you'll need tons of film and/or digital cards.
It may sound dumb but Do Not go into bear country around
your period. If ever attacked, 'no one' can outrun a bear.
Yes, weapons are vital to have up there, but not if you
just travel, take pictures, etc. You'll love it. |

Whitehorse, Yukon on a whim. It turned out to be mostly
really old bars and horny men. Then I met a really nice
man that I drove all the way to Anchorage with, in
February, in an Expedition. I was worried he might make a
pass, but he was a perfect gentleman. They (gentlemen) are
out there, it's just sometimes you gotta look under a rock
to find them. I let that one get away, unfortunately.
I'll try and not make the same mistake twice. |

Buffalo Pound Provincial Lake Park in Saskatchwan. Yes, my
spelling's probably rusty, but what an interesting place.
Banff National Park is outrageous. Canadians are great
people, different, and fun to camp with. Try as many
camping areas as you are able!!
Make sure to see Sitka, Alaska with its Russian heritage.
Go to the Mount Aleyeska ski resort and take the chair lift
up the mountain - - with lots of film. You face away from
the slope so you will get great pictures of Cook Inlet.
Absolutely beautiful.
Try & take the Alaska Railroad, at least to Mount McKinley,
the largest mountain in the world; how? Because compared to
Everest, which sits on a plateau, McKinley is taller,
mountain to mountain, discounting the sea level method. I
understand that some mountains (sea mounts) under the
ocean, are even bigger. Interesting to say the least. |
