The 2008 Kia Amanti full-size economy sedan (MSRP: $26,195, Invoice price: $23,950) competes with the Buick LaCrosse, Buick Lucerne, Chevrolet Impala, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Ford Taurus, Honda Accord, Hyundai Azera, Mazda Mazda6, Mercury Sable, Mitsubishi Galant, Nissan Altima, Pontiac G6, Saturn Aura, Subaru Legacy, Suzuki Forenza, Toyota Camry, Toyota Avalon, Volkswagen Jetta, and Volkswagen Passat. The Opirus/Amanti was Kia's first entry into the large-car market.1 It shares some components with its now-defunct corporate cousin, the Hyundai XG Grandeur, including its 3.5 L V6 engine.2 The Kia Amanti is assembled in Hwasung, Korea. It comes with a 264-horsepower, 3.8-liter V6 engine, a five-speed shiftable automatic transmission, and a front-wheel drive system.

The 2008 Kia Amanti sedan has a four-wheel independent suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, a double wishbone front suspension, and a multi-link rear suspension.

Its exterior features include 16-inch painted alloy wheels, all season tires, a temporary spare tire, a steel spare wheel, and an inside-mounted spare tire. If you didn't know this car was a Kia, you'd probably think it was expensive. The affordable Amanti looks and drives like a luxury car, although a few annoying things remind you of its cheap Korean roots. Quality is surprisingly good inside the Kia Amanti.
