Chevy's designers have been busy revamping the front-wheel-drive Monte Carlo coupe. It will roll out by the summer with new powertrain options including a small-block V8. Monte Carlo the two-door version gets a streamlined treatment which mimics the silhouette of NASCAR race cars.

Engines include a base 3.5-liter V6 worth 210 hp or the optional 3.9-liter six-pack rated at 240 hp. And SS models score GM's 303-hp V8 featuring Displacement on Demand (DOD) technology to seamlessly switch off cylinders when not needed to boost fuel economy.
