The 2008 Acura TSX near-luxury compact sedan (MSRP $28,190 - $30,290) comes in four trim levels (Base Automatic, Base Manual, Base Automatic with Navigation System, and Base Manual with Navigation System) and competes with the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Cadillac CTS, Honda Accord, Infiniti G35, Lexus ES, Lexus IS, Mercedes-Benz C Class, Saab 9-3, and the Volvo S40 and S60. All trim levels are available with a 205-horsepower 2.4-liter I4 engine, front-wheel drive system, and either five-speed shiftable automatic transmission or six-speed manual transmission.
The Acura TSX is currently in its first generation. It was manufactured and first introduced by Honda in 2003, set to compete with other entry-level luxury cars like the Audi A4, Saab 9-3, Lexus IS, Leuxs ES, Volvo S40/S60, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Suspension features include four-wheel independent suspension, double wishbone front suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, and multi-link rear suspension.

Exterior features include alloy wheels, all-season tires, inside-mounted steel spare tire, variable-intermittent wipers, rear defogger, power glass sunroof, and remote sunroof operation.
Seating features include five-person total seating capacity, leather upholstery, sport front seats, eight-way power driver's seat, four-way power front passenger seat, driver's seat with manual adjustable lumbar support, height-adjustable driver's seat, multi-heating driver and front passenger seats, rear bench seat, folding with storage center armrest, split-folding rear seat back, and rear ventilation ducts.
Entertainment and telematics features include eight speakers, two subwoofers, AM/FM in-dash six-CD player stereo, 360 watts stereo output, XM satellite radio, element antenna, auxiliary MP3 audio input, pre-wiring for phone, and Bluetooth wireless data link for a hands-free phone.
Additional features for the Base Automatic with Navigation System and Base Manual with Navigation System trim levels include alloy trim on the shift knob and a DVD navigation system with voice activation.
Safety and security features include electronic brakeforce distribution, two front and three rear height-adjustable headrests, xenon high intensity discharge headlamps, front fog and driving lights, ventilated front disc and solid rear disc brakes, rear door child safety locks, child seat anchors, 4-wheel Antilock Braking System, emergency braking assist, emergency interior trunk release, stability control, turn signal mirrors, traction control, tire pressure monitoring, engine immobilizer, front seatbelt pretensioners, remote anti-theft alarm system, front and rear head airbags, dual front side-mounted airbags, and passenger airbag occupant-sensing deactivation.
A safety report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) showed that the 2008 Acura TSX sedan received five stars out of five in frontal crash tests, five stars out of five (front seat) and four stars out of five (rear seat) in side crash tests, and four stars out of five in rollover tests.[1]
A reliability history report from ConsumerReports.org showed how the Acura TSX sedan held up mechanically. The Acura TSX sedan received the following ratings for the year 2007: excellent ratings for its engine, transmission, drive, fuel, audio, electrical, and climate systems, suspension, exhaust, and paint and trim, body hardware, power equipment, and squeaks and rattles, and very good ratings for its brakes.[2]
It received the following awards: Car and Driver's Ten Best list from 2004 to 2006, CNN's "Best Resale Value Cars" article in 2006 (ranked best in the sedan category), and named Top-Value Car of 2004 (sedan category) by SmartMoney.com.
