There are three trim levels available for this model - LS, LT, Sport, and SS turbocharged coupe. The Chevrolet Cobalt compact coupe and sedan competes with the Dodge Caliber, Ford Focus, Honda Civic, Kia Spectra, Mazda Mazda3, Mitsubishi Lancer, Nissan Sentra, Pontiac G5, Subaru Impreza, Outback Sport, Suzuki Reno, Suzuki SX4, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Matrix, Toyota Prius, and Volkswagen Jetta. The Chevrolet Cobalt was first introduced in 2005.1 It is assembled in Lordstown, Ohio.

The LS and LT trim levels are available with a 148-horsepower, 2.2-liter engine.
