The 2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer midsize Sport Utility Vehicle (MSRP: $28,150.00 - $34,695.00, Invoice price: $26,368.68 - $32,488.25) comes in LT and SS basic trim levels. This model competes with the Acura MDX, Buick Enclave, Chrysler Aspen, Dodge Durango, Dodge Nitro, Ford Expedition, Ford Expedition EL, Ford Explorer, GMC Acadia, GMC Envoy, GMC Yukon, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Santa Fe, Isuzu Ascender, Jeep Cherokee, Lexus RX350, Mazda CX-5, Mercury Mountaineer, Nissan Pathfinder, Saturn Outlook and Toyota 4Runner. The Chevrolet Trailblazer is the successor to the Chevrolet Blazer.1 It is assembled in Moraine, Ohio and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The 2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LT trim levels are available with a 285-horsepower, 4.2-liter I6 engine, 4-speed automatic transmission, and a choice of rear-wheel and four-wheel drive system. The TrailBlazer SS trim levels are available with a 390-horsepower, 6-liter V8 engine, 4-speed automatic transmission, and a choice of rear-wheel and all-wheel drive system.

The 2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer has a front independent suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, a double wishbone front suspension, and a solid live axle rear suspension.

The 2LT features include an automatic climate control, rear air-conditioning, and audio controls. It has leather seats, heated outside mirrors, a power driver seat, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Lastly, the 3LT has 18-inch wheels, a power passenger seat, a driver seat memory, a Bose sound system, and heated front seats.

The 2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer SS trim level, meanwhile, has 20-inch wheels, upgraded interior and exterior trim, a limited-slip differential, a sport-tuned suspension, and high-performance brakes.

A safety and crash test report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) showed that the 2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer received three stars out five (driver) and four stars out of five (passenger) in frontal crash tests; five stars out of five in side crash tests; and three stars out of five (two-wheel drive) and four stars out of five (four-wheel drive) side in rollover tests.
