The 2008 Ford Edge midsize crossover Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) is available in six trim levels: SE FWD (MSRP $25,565), SE AWD (MSRP $27,315), SEL FWD (MSRP $27,560), SEL AWD (MSRP $29,310), Limited FWD (MSRP $30,555), and Limited AWD (MSRP $32,305). The Edge is based on the Ford CD3 platform, originally launched on the Mazda 6 Sedan.1 This platform is also shared with the Lincoln MKX, and Mazda CX-9 crossovers, the Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and the Lincoln MKZ sedans.2 This model made its first appearance at the 2006 North American International Auto Show. It is currently assembled in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

Ford's new Edge is a station wagon that looks like an SUV. This versatile vehicle drives like a car -- a very nice car -- while also offering a huge cargo area, high seating position and spacious cabin. What's not to like? Inside, the Edge has nicer materials and better construction than Ford has been known for in recent years. There are no squeaks or rattles, and no Barbie Doll plastic, either.
